This Is Where He Keeps The Heads. June 21, 2007

Creepy nik-naks for your mantelpiece. I think I may have mentioned Barnaby Barford before in relation to the products he’s designed for Thorsten Van Elten (who, by the way, have a massive clearance sale coming up - visit the website for details), but I thought I’d mention his weird sideline work.
Barford has a little sideline going in creepy surreal ceramic figurines. He makes one-off ceramic pieces made from existing mass-manufactured or antique ceramics. The figurines are cut and re-stuck together in a new and slightly disrupted way. With pieces like This is where he keeps the heads, The Chav Nativity and Aaaaaaaaagggggghhhhhhh you’re definitely getting something a little different from your average granny’s ballerina ceramic figures.
