My apologies for the lack of posts recently. I’ve shirked my duties in favor of racing around the english countryside in a 50 year old sportscar. The sun has been shining, so me and “Miss. Random Fashion Coolness” have been pretending we’re from the 50’s by travelling around the english hills in an Austin Healy Bug Eyed Sprite.

It’s got no seat-bealts, no roof, no mirrors, no radio, the breaks are deadly and it’s got a top speed of about 65 mph (and thats downhill with the wind behind you!), but it’s the most fun I’ve ever had in a car! If you’ve got a weekend free, give yourself a treat; hire a classic sportscar and get yourself lost in the countryside.

Modern wall coverings. I’ve got a thing for interesting wall surfaces at the moment, and I especially like the acoustic sound panels such as the Sticks by Jean-Marie Massaud and Flow by Karim Rashid for the Soundwave Series by OFFECCT.

I want everything Quodes have ever produced. Every item that Quodes make is a quirky and colourful item of beauty. From their colourful, angular bookcases to the Marcel Wanders designed ‘Beautiful Women’ dressing tables. I can’t believe there is no UK distributor. I’m almost tempted to open a design store myself, just to spread the Quodes brand.

Get some new feet. I’m not really a fan of the hipster-vans-style shoes, but the Loker Model from Fallen Footwear might turn me.

Bedtime reading aid. You’ve got to admire the beautiful simplicity of the Bedtime shelf by Bloq. A simple angled shelf which allows you to store your book at bedtime, whilst retaining your page. I’m blown away by how such a simple solution can also be beautifully stylish.

Modern Traditionalism. I love it when designers take a familiar style and tweak it with a modern edge, and designer Gavin Coyle has done it beautifully with the Contrail Chair for Splinter Designs.
