Table Love. Sander Mulder and Dave Keune’s Buro Vormkrijgers design studio have designed a table so sharp and crisp it makes me want to destroy any previously existing table design, and replace them with the Sputnik Table (another photo here and here.)
Available from Cultivate, the Sputnik Table would fit perfectly with the stylings of the Origami Chair by Form Us With Love.

Toilet Design. I can’t read Italian so I have no idea what this thing is, other than knowing it’s called Bat(h) Man and designed by Massimilano De Falco. However, if it’s a mens toilet urinal, then it is undoubtedly the hottest urinal design I ‘ve ever seen.
After seeing the Bat(h) Man, in the interests of expanding my knowledge of toilet interiors, I found Urinal.net. Apparently, it’s, “The best place to piss away your time on the Internet”, and also the source of ‘The Top 10 Most Fascinating Urinals’. Incredibly, some of the urinals are really interesting. The Felix and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center show that some people out there are putting a lot of thinking into toilets.
Now if you excuse me, I need to take a leak.

I know, I know, I’m playing catch-up with the internet on this one! Everybody who has ever used the internet has probably seen this design trend of arranging your book spines according to colour by now, but I still love it. Normally, I try and stay away from items that are already doing the rounds on other blogs because I figure that the world doesn’t need 50 design orientated blogs all publishing the same material, but on this occassion the design trend is so effective (and also cheap) that I can’t help myself.
There’s no point in me rehashing what people like Style Files and Magpie & Cake have already said, so you go and find out more on those great sites.
However, if you’re looking for a cheap design tip, this one’s a peach!

Had a hard week? Don’t worry, it’s almost the weekend. And, if it’s been a particularly hard week, you can break out the Orgiastic Carafe By Edouard Larmaraud.
With the the wine glass an integral part of the bottle shape, you can just drink straight from the bottle with marginally more class than your average drunk. Perfect for the over-indulging designer alcoholic in all of us.

Children with style. I love these Antropomorfo Chairs by Gam Plus Fratesi. Based on childrens drawings, these chairs are wildly out of proportion which only serves to make them more stylish.
“Antropomorfo Chairs” is a series of chairs developed combining forms inspired from childrens drawings obviously out of proportions, with materials, colours and details typical from the scandnavian tradition.
A childrens drawing is extremely free. Interesting it is studying and understanding this spontanious expression in a three-dimensional way, translating this language in to a furniture … This overdimensioned element catch a great attention, but in the same time brings completely out of ballance all other elements; so renders the small details even smaller, though giving them even greater importance and a sence of irony.
