Orchid by Christian Flindt

The sexiest chair I’ve seen in a long time. The Orchid Chair by Christian Flindt is an incredibly sexy design. Check out these photos (photo, photo). Beautiful, isn’t it?

Flindt’s Between Prototype (photo here) also looks like it’s going to be another sexy number.

Football Tape by Marti Guixé.

Football Tape by Marti Guixé

Fancy an impromptu office footie match? Just in case you fancy a kick-around but find you don’t have a football, you can solve the problem with Football Tape by Marti Guixé.

Just scrunch up a paper ball, then wrap the football tape around it to create your make-shift football. Of course, you coyuld to the same thing with a normal roll of sellotape, but it’s not quite as cool, is it?

Il Buddino.

Il Buddino

Sometimes you just need a strawberry jelly buddha, don’t you? Not to long ago, the Bibliochaise by Nobody & Co was all over the design blogosphere, but no one mentioned their incredibly cool Il Buddino mold. A perfect gift for your sweet-toothed buddhist friends.

Dog Project.

Dog Project

Art auction for a good cause. Today was the auction for the Dog Project, an event to raise funds on behalf of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

When Jensen Parsons was five he scribbled a picture on a pad, and that was Boil the dog. Boil went onto a canvas to make him more permanent, and all of a sudden everybody wanted to paint a dog canvas. It was extraordinary how different people expressed themselves, and that was the start of the dog project.

Some very talented people, many of them well known such as Damien Hirst and Paul Smith, have painted a dog canvas in an effort to raise money via an art auction. Sotheby’s will be hosting the Auction at The Hospital Gallery on the 31st January 2007 and we will raise a lot of money for Great Ormond Street.

Sleazy Film Posters.

Sleazy Film Posters

Design Inspiration. Check out this great collection of sleazy retro Film Posters. It’s a great source of creative inspiration in terms of styling, colour, etc. In my opinion, loads of them would maked great framed artworks.

Just go and check out everything about Mark Dean Veca and bow down before the altar of his heavenly skills.

Marc Owens.

Marc Owen

Some people just have too many good ideas. Marc Owens is one of those people. I especially love his Tandem Umbrella – An umbrella built for the inseparable. Plus his Typographic Playing Cards are bound to appeal to the type loving designer’s of the world.

Check out Marc Owens other ideas.

Pallet Table.

Pallet Table

Random coolness on Flickr. I love it when people take existing materials and use them in a new interesting design. Which is why I think this Pallet Table that’s posted on Flickr is great. It’s such a great idea, and the worn industrial materials only make it look even better.

Pop Junkie.

Pop Junkie

Argyle T-shirts & Floral Lions. Aaron Feiger emailled to tell me about the label he and his girlfriend Ashley Marcinczyk run called Pop Junkie. I often get emails from people looking for a quick bit of free exposure, and, quite frankly, most of the time the stuff they want me to pimp is garbage. So it makes a nice change to get an email from Pop Junkie, as their stuff is great. I particularly like the argyle style Floral Lion t-shirts.

Random Fashion Coolness.

Random Fashion Coolness

A lesson in how to earn brownie points! My girlfriend has started a blog about fashion. If her ability to highlight cool fashion items is anything like her ability to spend money on those items, then it’s bound to be a success. To give her a headstart, I thought I’d let my readers know about her blog. If you’re into fashion, and want to be kept up to date with the latest labels and styles, go and check out Random Fashion Coolness (the name sounds familiar, don’t you think?)
